Our Rising Stars were looking for bugs in the woods this morning.

We have been learning about the different trees in our woods and we are now beginning to be able to recognise some of them by their leaves and the seeds they have. To help us learn we have been making tree people using clay and leaves.
F1 went on a bug hunt this morning, we were finding things that live in our woods. We really stretched our noticing muscles and managed to find some slugs, wood lice and worms. It has been a day full of leaning and fun today in the woods. The first group of the day were following instructions to make toast at the camp fire. This morning the boys stretched their perseverance muscles to create some 3d shapes with sticks and rubber bands. Later in in the morning F2 KB went on a Gruffalo hunt, we found the Gruffalo’s kitchen and some of his fur! We didn’t find the Gruffalo though because he was out at work.
It has been such a busy, fun day in the woods. I have seen lots of learning muscles being stretched but I think the biggest one was perseverance. Have a look at some of the things we have been doing today.

We managed to dodge most of the rain this afternoon in the woods and had fun playing and learning.
Look are how absorbed these children are doing some literacy work in the woods. We are thinking about the Roald Dahl story The Minpins.
