So proud of our children

Posted by on March 24, 2017

Last year I had a bit of a dream, I wanted to take a group of our ks2 children to the woods with some of our Rising Stars. We did this last summer with a group from year 4 and it was amazing. Since then the children have moved into year 5 and have been asking almost every week if we could do it again. This week we had our first session. Some of the year 5s were part of last years group but we also had some new ones. We were all very excited to set the little ones from Rising Stars. Within a few minutes the 2 groups of children were building some brilliant relationships and having lots of fun. The older children should be so proud of themselves, they were brilliant role models, and were naturals at thinking about what the younger children and what would interest them. They have already started having ideas of things they could do in the coming weeks. Some of the younger children hadn’t been to the woods before but supported by the older children they were confident to explore. It is difficult to be able to write about how amazing this session is, it just feels magical.

He was tired out by the end, he never stops moving in the woods.

Elijah has been poorly since he came home but the only thing he did want to tell me was about playing in the woods with his new friends ☺
